Dynamic compression testing on 2000 Villager ( my tribute to Fix-it-Angel)

The van presented to my virtual shop with P0304 code. Primary inspection revealed open spark plug wire and spark plug with black insulator tip (more like "too cold" rather than "too rich" appearance).

The miss was more pronounced under load (D plus brake) and on uphill acceleration. Replacement of the wire made it less severe , however problem persisted. So I am doing dynamic compression test for good and bad cylinders to see any difference. The good cylinder reads 65 while the bad one reads 50. (the compression meter end was not saturated with gas during the test (injector unplugged, so it rules out "leaking while closed" injector).

Just for kicks we will put the new distributor cap (my spark tester can be questionable), but it looks more like a leaking exhaust valve.

Featuring my unshaven face, glasses, mustache and broken nose:)

Q and A:

Q: WTF you are uploading shitty videos?

A. To impress my subscribers. Note: Profanity and foul language will not be tolerated.

Q: Who is Fix-it-Angel?

A: What is dynamic compression testing?

A: used it to save time (did it on my lunch break)

Q: What do 75/50 numbers mean ?

A: Compression pressure during cranking/running (running pressure is what we will look at)
